I make individual illustrated stoneware vessels that record the richness of places in flux. I’m concerned with moments in time before the demolition starts, or the sanitising effaces, when nature and the elements have begun to transform. Enduring fragments of wallpaper on Victorian tiles compete with the gestures of graffiti; untamed undergrowth rambles over crumbling angels in neglected cemeteries; glimpses of former street plans are overlain with old menus and fading advertisements. 



Combining my own unique method of printing with iron onto slipped raw clay, I create images from my own photographs and collages and from maps and old documents. The vessels are hand built from the printed slabs, the forms retaining a simplicity which provides a canvas for the multi layered and often highly detailed imagery which appears on every available surface, both inside and out.



A Professional Member of Craft Potters Association, I have exhibited widely in the UK and internationally.  In London, I regularly show with StArt Space and at Wills Art Warehouse, both in London. My work is included in the collections of the Potteries Museum, Stoke-on-Trent and the Geffrye Museum, London.
