CAROLINE FRASER

CAROLINE FRASER
Rye.
Caroline’s photography is a response to the beauty and infinite variation of objects found in nature, along with a concern for the natural environment. Her quiet representations of mood and place are created with an emphasis on the intimate details within nature, using abstraction and layering. Her love of remote landscapes has taken her to the highlands of Scotland, Iceland, New Zealand's South Island and most recently Greenland. In this exhibition she shows abstract landscapes from the seashore at Camber Sands and New Zealand, exploring the play of light on water and fragile natural objects found on the beach.
She has published a number of limited edition artist books containing her writings alongside her photographic work, and has exhibited in London, Rye, Scotland and Japan.
Her studio is at The Creative Centre, Rye.
She values the sentiments of the adventurer John Muir who said;
“everybody needs beauty as well as bread, places to play in and pray in, where nature may heal and give strength to body and soul”
