Christopher has combined in his paintings this enthusiasm with a fondness and appreciation of British wildlife gained on walks around the local coastline. He has developed an intricate and detailed style of painting, a style that requires many weeks of work to acquire.

After studying fine art in Yorkshire, Christopher James trained, then worked as an antique ceramic restorer. Through regular research into the oriental pottery he worked with, he developed a love of art from the Far East. He was particularly drawn to the ancient Chinese tradition of 'Bird and Flower' painting.
