Julian Hanshaw won The Observer/Comica Short Story Award with a tale set around the Denge Sound Mirrors and Dungeness.
His graphic novels with Jonathan Cape/Penguin, Top Shelf and Self Made Hero include the Prix Europa winning The Art of Pho, as well as I'm Never Coming Back, Cloud Hotel and Free Pass to be released May 2022.
Julian also contributed to and co-edited the anthologiesI Feel Machine and I Feel Love, the former having one of its stories nominated for an Eisner. Julians graphic novel Tim Ginger was shortlisted for The British Comic Award and the LA Times Graphic Novel of The Year. He has also animated on BAFTA-winning shows and his own animation won The Golden Reels in Loas Angeles.
Julians site specific comics can be seen in The Rye Nature Reserve, Winchelsea Beach, Winchelsea Old Town and The Fire Hills Pett. Julians sequential and stand-alone works are influenced and often inspired by his travels both far and local.
