Emily Tull
My art is a representation of my thoughts about situations in life. It addresses themes like death, relationship, mental health and psychology. To me, life is difficult, imaginative, weird, dreamy and visceral which is why I find surrealism intriguing.
I use surrealistic composition of human figures to examine the black society through the lenses of social, mental and economic struggle in a bid to provide the audience with something to relate to when they feel down which might serve as a temporal antidote to the sufferings in life.
